Google is set to revolutionize personalized AI interactions with the launch of Gems, a new feature for Gemini subscribers. Starting soon, users can create their own chatbots—dubbed Gems—to assist in various tasks such as garden planning, text editing, and workout routines.
Gems allow users to define unique personalities and capabilities for their chatbots through simple instructions. First introduced at Google I/O in May, the platform showcased a friendly and knowledgeable Gem designed to help with low-water garden planning. For those not ready to design their own, Google offers pre-made Gems, including a training coach, brainstorming assistant, career guide, coding partner, and editor.
Available to Gemini Advanced, Business, and Enterprise users on both mobile and desktop across over 150 countries, Gems aims to enhance user experience. This move follows OpenAI’s recent push to enable custom GPT creation and sharing.
