Samsung takes a leap into the future of kitchen technology with the launch of the Flex four-door refrigerator featuring AI Family Hub+. Set to debut at CES next year, this smart fridge goes beyond conventional cooling – it develops recipes based on your stocked ingredients or dietary requirements.
The innovation lies in the internal chamber equipped with AI capabilities that identify individual foods. The refrigerator’s special program analyzes your stock and suggests recipes accordingly. Users can further enhance their kitchen experience by streaming their Galaxy smartphone screens to the Family Hub’s 32-inch touchscreen display, enjoying TikTok and YouTube videos right from the fridge.
While a similar model was introduced in 2023, the updated version takes connectivity a step further. Now, the fridge seamlessly integrates with the Samsung Health profile via Family Hub, adapting recipes to align with the owner’s dietary needs. Despite some limitations, such as the Vision AI feature recognizing up to 33 foods, this smart appliance introduces a new level of convenience to the kitchen.
Users can manually input expiration dates for foods on the touchscreen, receiving timely notifications when items are about to expire. Samsung envisions this smart fridge as a central hub within its broader ecosystem of AI-enabled kitchen appliances, including AI ovens. The upcoming Anyplace cooktop model, featuring a pull-out cooktop and seven-inch LCD screens, will complement this ecosystem, offering an immersive cooking experience with recipes from Samsung Food at your fingertips. The kitchen of the future is here, blending technology, convenience, and culinary innovation.
